Transformed: 2011 Hyundai Accent

Hyundai chose Beijing to unveil its 2011 Hyundai Verna (locally known as Accent). The new look wasn't much of a surprise actually,  what's surprising is how Hyundai designers managed to "minimized" the 2011 Hyundai Sonata look into the Accent.

The 2011 Accent measures 4,340mm in length, 1,700mm in width, 1,460mm in height, with an overall wheelbase of 2,570mm.Hyundai claims that the small sedan's overall cabin dimensions are bigger than any rivals and that it comes with a 454lt trunk that can "easily accommodate as many as four golf bags plus three small tote bags." Can't visualize? Compare it with the Honda City's 500 liter trunk.

The Chinese will get the first feel of the Verna (Accent) once production starts in July and sales will come shortly in the coming months of the year. There, it will be offered in two engine variants- a 1.4 and a 1.6 liter gasoline. The 1.4 liter will be fitted to a choice of a five-speed manual and a four- speed automatic. The base 1.4 liter engine produces 106 HP 135.4Nm of torque at 5,000RPM.

Hyundai tells that the new Verna (Accent) will replace all existing Verna(Accent) models all over the world starting early 2011.
