Ford Philippines bets on the Fiesta as it confirms it will hit Manila Soon
Last December we made waves on local auto forums by telling that the all-new Ford Fiesta will be launched in Southeast Asia including, of course, the Philippines. Now we're making a follow up!
Ford Philippines has confirmed that the new all new Ford Fiesta will hit Philippine showrooms sometime in the second half of this year.
"We are very excited about the pending arrival of the internationally-lauded Ford Fiesta here in the Philippines," Ford Group Philippines president Rick Baker said in a statement issued following the debut of the Ford Fiesta at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show. The Fiesta will be Ford's first B-car entry in the local market.
Although the finer details are yet to be revealed, Ford says that they will be releasing 1.4 and 1.6 liter versions here.
"The new Fiesta also will be the first Ford in ASEAN available with an advanced new six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift automatic transmission. This is the first time that Ford's PowerShift gearbox is applied in small cars in Asia," Ford said.
What we know though is that the new Ford Fiesta will most likely include safety features like driver-side airbag, anti-lock braking system, and Electronic Stability Program,Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity.
