The first eight months of the year resulted to 1,434 Jazzes finding their families. The figure is already a 22.6% increase, come to think that there is still the BER months left in the calendar. Now, talk about global recession and failing Philippine economy?

Widely acclaimed for its dynamic styling, spacious interiors, versatile utility and remarkable fuel economy, the Honda Jazz has been one of the most favored hatchbacks in the market today. In fact, it has already registered cumulative sales of over 7,700 units since its local introduction in 2004.

The market’s warm acceptance on the Jazz is not only evident on its sales performance but is also reflected on its various recognitions received. Included in its prestigious streaks of accolades is the back-to-back over-all Japan Car of the Year award for both 1st and 2nd generation models, covering years 2001-2002 and 2007-2008. The latest Jazz model is also the recipient of the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Association (JAHFA) Car of the Year Award, the Automotive Researchers and Journalists Conference of Japan (RJC) Car of the Year and the CCC Car of the Year Eco Award, to name a few. Here in the Philippines, the Jazz has been named the Best Subcompact Sedan during the 5th Annual C! Awards.

One of the main reasons behind the numerous raves about the second generation Jazz is the application of Honda’s trademark i-VTEC engine for both 1.3 and 1..5-liter variants. The i-VTEC engine maintains delivery of outstanding fuel economy yet optimizes power output by intelligently varying valve timing depending on the driving conditions. It also complies with the stringent EURO 4-level emission standards even if local regulations only require EURO 2, making it an environment-friendly vehicle as well.
